The budget needed to build a terraced area varies depending on what material will serve as the walkway and how far it goes back onto your property.

If you want something like brick pavers near your patio door then this option could be pricey since they tend to cost $15-$20 per square foot of coverage (minimum of 300 sq ft).

On the other hand, if you choose wood deck boards instead these generally only run between $11-$14 per linear foot.

The same goes for smooth concrete that is typically between $12-$14 per square foot. Overall, you can get a terrace built on your property at a lower cost than building an entire veranda since it’s just one section instead of the whole outdoor area!
